Zoom Instructions and Etiquette

1. PLEASE USE YOUR FULL FIRST AND LAST NAME AS YOUR DISPLAY NAME.

Go into your account profile then click edit next to your profile name and photo then change your display name.

*COS may request you to change your display name before being admitted to Zoom event by chatting with you while you are in the waiting room. Please check chat if you have not been admitted.

2. JOIN A MEETING BY CLICKING ON THE ZOOM LINK PROVIDED TO YOU.

a. Follow the prompts to download and run Zoom then enter the meeting ID if prompted.

b. You will have the option to join with audio and video or just audio. Pick whatever is most comfortable for you.

c. COS may work to keep all participants muted throughout the service/event however, you can also keep your microphone muted to prevent noises which will distract other participants. You can mute and unmute your microphone by clicking the mute button in the bottom left corner.

d. You can turn your camera on and off by pressing the video button next to the microphone.

e. The chat function allows you to send messages to the group as a whole or individual participants to not interrupt the service.

f. To leave the meeting, press the “leave meeting” button at the bottom right corner.

3. WE MAY BE “SPOTLIGHTING” MULTIPLE CAMERAS.

If you would like to watch these featured cameras, then keep your Zoom view on “Speaker View.” If you would like to see the faces of your fellow community members, then keep your Zoom on “Gallery View.” Feel free to switch back and forth between the two view options whenever you would like.

4. BEST PRACTICES:

▪ Staying muted when not speaking helps avoid feedback and background distractions.

▪ Using earbuds helps with sound quality and avoid echoes.

▪ When your video is on, we can see what is behind you, what you are doing and what you are wearing!

▪ Turning off your video will help if you are having bandwidth/internet stability issues.
