Cantor Allan S. Robuck

Cantor Allan Robuck has served as Hazzan at Congregation Ohev Shalom since 1991. He is a member of the Cantors Assembly and has received his commission as Hazzan-Minister from them. His duties at COS include leading services, teaching music in the Hebrew school, training Bar and Bat MitzVah students, leading an adult choir, adult education, preparing the Yad Squad - our lay Torah readers group - and the occasional talk in our Rabbis’ absence.

Cantor Robuck is equally at home in the worlds of popular and Jewish music. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati - College Conservatory of Music with degrees in Music Education and Jazz performance. From 1984 until 1996, Cantor Robuck appeared as a pianist and singer at Walt Disney World. His career includes appearances as pianist and conductor with many well-known performing artists on both the local and national scene. Cantor Robuck's cantorial training was under Cantor Albert Schindler (z'l) of Cleveland, Ohio and Cantor Moshe Friedler of Tampa, Florida. He is also founder, music director and pianist for the Jewish singing group VISIONS and performs with them in cities around the world.

Cantor Robuck and his wife Robin live in Lake Mary, Florida. They are the proud parents of Michael, Benjamin and Yoni.

Message from Cantor Robuck

Thanks for visiting Ohev Shalom on the web. Here at Congregation Ohev Shalom one of my participate in one of our annual Youth arts projects. How about the adult choir? Each year a talented group of members help to make our services more beautiful for the whole congregation by lending their talents to our adult choir. How about just coming to services and singing along? I take great pride in the fact that Ohev Shalom is a congregation that sings! I want you to participate fully with us. That is why so many of our prayers are sung to easy-to-sing congregational melodies and we encourage everyone to sing along. How about joining our terrific lay Torah readers group – the "Yad Squad"? We currently have 60 members who participate in the Torah reading during our Shabbat and Holyday services. If none of those suit you, stop by the office and I'll come up with a good joke for you.
